Preparing Travel with Your Dog |
You may be in good company with your dog at home but during travel, things are different. Before travelling with your pet, make sure he is travel-ready. Does he behave? Is he sociable, especially with new people or animals? If you answer no to any of these questions, you should consider leaving your pet with a trusted friend or relative. Have your dog acquire basic training to gain discipline prior to any travelling. Additionally, have your veterinarian check your pet and issue certification of complete and updated vaccinations. While on travel, bring along your dog’s health documentations. Moreover, ensure your pet is wearing collar and ID tag with your name and contact details in it. If your dog is in medications, make sure to bring what he needs for the whole duration of the trip. Lastly, do not forget to bring his favourite toy as well as his food, if it is a special requirement.
